Kerala’s long relationship with metal artifacts is well documented, and our craftsmen have introduced many creative metal works to the world. The ornate Aranmula Kannadi is at the forefront of the same, but there are a host of other metal artworks that are part of our daily lives in God’s Own Country. From the dinner table to elaborate rituals, they are a constant in these parts. Ms.Radhika shows us the uses of some of the most common metal artefacts seen in the State. Participants of the 2018 edition of the Children’s International Online Painting Competition, in memory of child prodigy Edmund Thomas Clint, shall get the unique opportunity to compete for a chance to visit these shores and witness the process that leads to the making of such masterpieces.
